Deutsche Börse Gets in the Macro-news Game

Over the past year, many firms have been working on enhancing or creating data feeds for machine-readable, macroeconomic news that traders can use for decision-making. Enter Deutsche Börse.

In mid-April, the exchange launched AlphaFlash, which it claims is the “fastest currently available datafeed for machine-readable, trading relevant, macroeconomic releases.” The feed will deliver more than 150 indicators from North America and Europe that will trigger clients’ trading algorithms.

The news will be supplied by Deutsche Börse Group subsidiaries Need to Know News (NTKN) and Market News International (MNI). The items being distributed are breaking or embargoed news such as central bank decisions or employment figures and inflation numbers, which will be distributed with “minimum” latency, according to the exchange.
