Rich Newman (picture, above) has retired from FactSet, where he served as global head of content and technology solutions, with responsibility for the vendor’s “off-platform” products and solutions, including its Open:FactSet Marketplace of alternative datasets.

Newman, whose last day at the vendor was last Friday, May 29, says he will “explore and consider unique opportunities that will leverage my experience, my network, my dedication to social responsibility, and my passion for leading emergent, high-growth organizations.” For example, he has already joined the advisory board of Sydney-based big-data platform provider RoZetta Technology.

During almost 20 years at FactSet, Newman also served as director of quantitative investment management, and director of Vision Integrated Solutions, responsible for integrating the acquisition of Insyte, a quantitative investment management data solutions provider for large institutions, which Newman founded in 1985.

To replace Newman, FactSet has hired Jonathan Reeve (pictured to the left)) as SVP and head of content and technology solutions, based in Norwalk, Conn. He will report to FactSet CEO Phil Snow.

Reeve joined the vendor last month after three years as global head of enterprise products at Intercontinental Exchange’s ICE Data Services division, prior to which he held various roles at S&P Capital IQ, including chief data officer, chief product and content officer, and managing director of data strategy and operations.

Before that, he spent eight years in various roles at Reuters, including as SVP of data operations for its equities, commodities and energy business.
