Merrill Lynch & Co. vice president of investment and capital markets Anthony Pizi has become a vice president responsible for projects at the firm's so-called private client, or retail brokerage group. As part of the change, Pizi transfers from the firm's 250 Vesey St., Manhattan, offices to Merrill Lynch's Princeton, N.J., offices. The shift is called a lateral move by a Merrill Lynch official.
Dow Jones Telerate is moving a number of staffers from its Harborside, N.J.-based offices to parent company Dow Jones & Co.'s facilities in South Brunswick, N.J. Displaced personnel will come from Telerate's finance department; the department is scheduled to decamp by the end of June. A Telerate spokesperson confirms that at least some of the finance department is slated for transfer, but declines to comment on the specific number set to shift. Once in the South Brunswick offices, a source close to the vendor says that the dislocated Telerate staffers will be merged with Dow Jones' own constituency. The spokesperson says: "I think they're just trying to get some of the functions in the same locations."
Martha Dillman, Lehman Brothers Inc.'s head of fixed- income research and derivative systems development, resigned last month. Sources say her departure was voluntary and driven by personal reasons. She is replaced by Jim Roper and Dexter Senft, who together will serve as co-heads of taxable fixed-income research. Senft joined Lehman last year, after 17 years at First Boston Corp. and more recently two years at EJV Partners L.P. (IMD, Sept. 13, 1993); Roper has been with Lehman for 12 years. While not an official member of Lehman's information technology ranks, sources say Dillman had been carrying a heavier systems development load in the months leading to her retirement. Dillman couldn't be reached for comment at press time.
