James Lascelles, formerly vice president of institutional markets for the Information and Processing Services division of Automatic Data Processing Inc.'s Brokerage Information Services Group, will take over as general manager of ADP's U.K. operation in March. He will replace Mike Cunningham, who will return to the U.S. Cunningham's new position has not yet been announced. Kevin Quill, recently named as senior vice president of institutional markets (IMD, Dec. 5, 1994), has assumed Lascelles' former responsibilities.
Thomson Financial Services Inc.'s First Call Corp. has appointed Roland Beaulieu as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer. Beaulieu will be responsible for the general management of First Call Research Services, which is comprised of First Call Notes and First Call Research Direct. Beaulieu remains senior vice president of Thomson Financial and is involved with all technical and logistic aspects of new developments and acquisitions. He most recently was senior vice president of operations and technology for Thomson Financial as well as executive vice president of First Call.
London-based Telekurs (U.K.) Ltd. has appointed a new managing director to replace Tudor Morgan, who left at the end of the summer. Beat Koch, head of controlling and logistics in the financial information division of Telekurs AG in Zurich, the parent of Telekurs (U.K.), was appointed in his place.
Peter Kingsley has been named marketing director for Dow Jones Telerate's Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Based in London, Kingsley reports to Dan Casey, managing director for the region. Kingsley, who joined Telerate from Reuters in 1992, was previously information services manager.
Darryl Murphy has joined Kenny S&P, a division of the Municipal Securities Services group of McGraw-Hill Inc., as a regional manager in New York, reporting to John Kiley, vice president of sales. Murphy previously was a senior account executive with Knight-Ridder Financial/Americas in Los Angeles.
Ivar Eilertsen, previously director of product management and director of strategic initiatives for Automatic Data Processing Inc., has been named managing director of Worldscope Disclosure Partners, a New York-based joint venture of Bethesda, Md.-based Disclosure Inc. and New York-based Wright Investors' Service. He replaces William O'Conor, who was promoted to executive vice president of Disclosure's database division. Worldscope Disclosure Partners produces the Worldscope Global and Worldscope Emerging Markets databases.
Bob Ballou has been named sales and customer services director for London-based Datastream International Ltd. In his new position, Ballou is responsible for worldwide sales and marketing efforts outside North America. He was previously the sales and customer services manager for the U.K. and Middle East. Ballou replaces Stephen Herman, who was promoted to deputy managing director in September. Datastream provides historical financial information online.
Rockville, Md.-based CDA/Spectrum, a division of CDA Investment Technologies Inc., is looking for a senior product manager to be based in New York City or Rockville and a senior software engineer, to be located in Rockville, for its Equity Trading Services (ETS) group. The senior software engineer, who will report to the senior product manager, must be experienced with client/server architecture and/or trading technologies. The senior product manager must also have product marketing experience. For more information, contact Jeff Cutler, director of ETS.
Michael Wheeler has been appointed president of NBC Desktop Video, a new position. NBC Desktop Video is a service which brings live coverage of business and general events to PC screens. Wheeler started the company and established it as a standalone operation within NBC, according to a spokesperson. He reports to Tom Rogers, president of NBC Cable and Business Development.
In an article on Technical Data Inc.'s many staff departures in the Dec. 5, 1994 issue of IMD, Nancy Cesarano was listed among those whose prior job titles were unknown. Cesarano was employed as an analyst at Tech Data for two years and worked on the so-called Mortgagedata service. She is actively seeking employment in the New York City area.
