Rick Snape has left Bankers Trust Co. -- where he was managing director of that firm's financial services information systems technology vending unit -- in favor of Bridge Information Systems Inc., where he is an executive vice president in sales. Snape sits on Bridge's executive committee, and his responsibilities include field service, delivering products to customers and -- self-evidently enough -- sales. Bridge executive vice president of marketing Mark Minister acted as head of sales in the interim before Snape's hiring; he is staying on. Snape, a former head of sales at Dow Jones Telerate, obviously has experience in fixed-income. Bridge on the other hand deals mostly in equities -- although last summer Bridge did buy Govpx Inc.'s consolidated treasury feed, to bolster its fixed-income service (IMD, Aug. 16, 1993); Snape's recruitment may be designed to maneuver Bridge into the bond market. Meanwhile, in another move at Bridge, David Larr has left the company. He was senior vice president -- research; he had concentrated on data content.

Smith Barney Shearson Inc.'s senior vice president Tony DeMeo has shifted roles at the firm. Previously in charge of SBS's marketing information systems, DeMeo is now part of group that's setting up a new high net-worth marketing effort. He will report to Toni Elliot, Smith Barney's head of marketing. DeMeo had been involved in the design and development of Shearson's retail brokerage workstation technology.

Industry outsider Catherine Sherwood has taken over the duties of Knight-Ridder Inc.'s Mark Daniels, product manager for the vendor's Digital Data Feed. Sherwood says she is now manager of financial products, overseeing the digital data feed division. Daniels left Knight-Ridder -- after two years -- for a post at Salomon Brothers Inc. Before Knight-Ridder, Sherwood worked at Fujitsu Personal Systems Inc., as a financial manager.

Meanwhile, at Thomson's Tech Data unit, Cameron Lockhead has been promoted to vice president. He was formerly manager of global markets for the Americas. One source says that Lockhead was moved up as a result of increased sales racked up while he oversaw the global markets group.

The news agency Nihon Keizai Shimbum America Inc. has promoted Yoshinori Okuda -- from editor-in-chief of its U.S. editorial headquarters to president. Replacing Okuda is Yasuhiko Nonomura, formerly editor-in-chief of the Nikkei Financial Daily.

McGraw-Hill Inc.'s Kenny S&P Inc. is looking for someone to "share in the success of the Kennybase product line." Would-be product managers need "solid experience in information distribution services." Knowledge of the muni market and a degree -- in business, preferably -- would be helpful, too.

Interactive Data Co., a subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet Corp., wants a new New York technical sales support representative. To land the job, applicants must be conversant in distributed Unix environments.

ILX Systems Inc. has advertised for a Unix operator to work the so-called third shift, which spans the hours between midnight and -- yawn -- 8 a.m. The job involves such duties as running nightly procedures, wide area network monitoring and general technical support of the vendor's Unix-based X.25 network. The vendor is also looking for database programmers with two years of C programming experience under Unix or Dos.
