There's a new world under Sarah Dunn, who assumed charge of Reuters' information management systems (IMS) marketing last month (filling a post abandoned by Doug Jeffrey last spring, IMD, May 24). IMS generally is charged with marketing of Reuters' platform products, including applications, hardware and such data delivery mechanisms as feeds. Dunn has divided her group two ways: into four product groups and three functions.
Michael Coddington, one of the few IMS reports continuing from before Dunn's arrival, is marketing manager for data feeds, and also oversees IDN source servers.
Wholly new to Reuters is Brendan Connelly, who joined last week as marketing manager for PC delivery platforms. Connelly has previously worked at Knight-Ridder, Dow Jones Telerate and PaineWebber Inc.
Also reporting to Dunn, Amy Dannin is marketing manager responsible for UNIX-based applications, including Reuters' Advanced Trader Workstation data display software, and other end-user applications.
Dan Reinmund manages marketing of Reuters' Triarch 2000 digital data distribution platform, including its data storage module and Branch Gateway Server, Reuters' wide area network-based data delivery system (IMD, Sept. 13).
Anthony Cardone becomes director of open systems, running a program designed to bring open systems closer to the heart of Reuters Americas. Cardone retains his previous responsibilities for product acceptance. Cardone will also serve as Dunn's deputy.
Roger Isom continues as vice president managing field implementation. He'll work with Reuters' product acceptance group, and will act as liaison to Reuters' districts for product acceptance.
Robb Sauerhoff becomes manager of Reuters' third-party program, working with other members of Dunn's team with a charter to see that plenty of third-party applications can interface with Reuters' Source/Sink Library (SSL), its digital data feeds and the Reuter Terminal.
Separately, Michael O'Connor, an eight-year Reuters veteran and vice president of business development and planning for Reuters' Americas group, left the firm last week. O'Connor is relocating to Florida.
Shark Information Services Corp. has hired Steve Lee, formerly director at Teknekron Software Systems Corp. Lee on Dec. 1, became Shark's chief operating officer, as part of a new organization that puts vice president Basil Lyden in charge of sales and customer service, and gives marketing oversight to John Sislo, who joined Shark earlier this year from Reuters.
Matt Driskill, previously a vice president at Oklahoma City-based Indepth Data Inc., has formed Global Information Resources Inc., based in the same midwest city. Among other services it hopes to offer, the startup aims to build financial and other databases by entering data overseas. While at Indepth, Driskill set up a data-entry site in India for the corporate bond database that vendor is developing for Salomon Brothers Inc.
