Former president of EJV Partners L.P. Bruce Peterson popped up in Wayne, Penn., last week as CEO at SunGard Financial Systems Inc. Peterson will take over from David Wismer, who steps aside to focus on mergers and acquisitions. This unit of SunGard Data Systems Inc. sells Phase3 and other back-office systems. Peterson fled his post at the EJV shortly after Liberty Brokerage Inc. signed on as a seventh partner and general manager (IMD, July 6).
Irene Eaglesfield joined Morgan Stanley & Co.'s fixed- income division last month, as a research associate. An alumna of the EJV Partners L.P., she was more recently a database consultant to Lehman Brothers Inc.
Also new to Morgan Stanley, and also as research associate in fixed-income, is Robert Passarella. Passarella had been a taxable fixed-income evaluation specialist at McGraw-Hill Inc.'s J.J. Kenny Co. unit.
Mark Daniels has left Knight-Ridder Financial for Salomon Brothers Inc. At Knight-Ridder, Daniels was marketing manager for financial products. Daniels starts work today in Salomon's fixed-income market data group.
Jim Feingold, until last month a member of Bloomberg's sales staff, has turned up at Reuters, where his initial responsibilities include conducting market research and overseeing sales development for Reuters' Decision 2000 fixed-income service (once known as its Bloomberg killer), as well as for other products in the capital markets area. Feingold will report to Jeff Walker, Reuters international sales development manager for Decision 2000. A Reuters spokesperson describes Feingold as a former top notch salesman for Bloomberg.
John Bennion, Mainstream Data Inc.'s executive vice president last month left the Salt Lake City-based data delivery vendor for a start-up firm specializing in electron microscopes. As a search continues for a replacement, Mainstream CEO Scott Calder is assuming Bennion's tasks.
