MAI Financial Information Services Ltd. has named Michael Mayhew to fill the position of vice president of business development. Mayhew, who assumed the post last month, reports to MAI chief executive officer Rodney Patterson. Mayhew previously held a similar position at McGraw-Hill Inc.

Bob Heller has joined A-T Financial Information Inc. as a senior account executive responsible for new sales in the New York area. He previously was a senior account executive with Quick America Corp., where he was hired to help launch the company's ill-fated Quick Trace product. Quick America recently decided to discontinue development and marketing for Quick Trace (IMD, Nov. 7). "I saw the handwriting on the wall and left before Quick Trace was closed down," Heller said. At A-T Financial, he reports to Buck Andrews, director of sales and marketing.

Tom Herson has joined First Union National Bank in Charlotte, N.C. as a senior data application specialist in the bank's capital markets group. Among his responsibilities will be day-to-day maintenance of Market Vision Corp.'s MVLink digital data distribution platform. He will also be involved with developing real-time end-user tools for trading and sales staff, FUNB officials confirm. Herson previously worked within Merrill Lynch's Digitised Market Data Distribution group in New York. Mark Krakoff will be his internal replacement there.
