Though primarily a market-making and execution business, Interactive Brokers faces many of the same challenges around market data compliance as end-user investment firms, Lee says. As such, his new role will include similar responsibilities to those of his previous roles at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, including contract negotiation, audits and content use.

Since leaving JP Morgan─where he was vice president of sourcing and procurement for global exchanges and index providers─in April, Lee served for a short stint as a consultant at New York-based management and market data consultancy Jordan & Jordan, focusing on helping clients with exchange reporting and compliance.

Before joining JP Morgan in 2012, Lee spent 12 years at Morgan Stanley as vice president and relationship manager for global market data sourcing, as well as the US Agency for International Development and the Boston Stock Exchange.

At Interactive Brokers, Lee reports to Yochai Korn, global head of market data.
