By incorporating Markit information, the new tool will provide Eze hedge fund clients a streamlined process and independent source for validating stock lending quotes, providing borrow cost, and availability information for global securities.

The tool can be used by these buy sides for a variety of purposes: to validate or benchmark stock lending fee quotes, verify stock loan rebates, benchmark equity finance quotes from their prime broker against aggregated lending fee data — allowing them to see the average market rate for borrowing securities prior to executing a trade — as well as benchmark current open trades for book optimization.

“This collaboration with Markit will enrich the Eze Locate tool within the Eze Software Investment Suite with unique benchmark data on rates," says Rob Keller, executive managing director of product management and development, Eze Software Group. "Our customers will benefit from having an independent source of standardized information to help compare and choose rates on traded securities."
