McKay Adds Milan, Zurich PoPs to Microwave Network

In addition to rolling out the new PoPs, McKay will deliver a fully microwave network to Zurich next year.

Zurich

As a result of the new PoPs, clients in Milan can access data on equity index, treasury, currency, metals and energy futures contracts traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange from CME’s datacenter in Aurora, Illinois in less than 38.1 milliseconds from source, while users in Milan and Zurich can access three-month London Metal Exchange futures data at latency of lower than 3.4 and 5.2 milliseconds, respectively.

The route to Equinix’s ZH4 datacenter in Zurich currently combines microwave and fiber networks, though McKay officials say the vendor will roll out an all-microwave route to Zurich in 2018.
