PanXchange already provides real-time and historical prices based on live bids and offers, recorded transactions, and assessed market values for the commodity markets, and has been creating a platform for trades in the proppant (frac sand—a derivative of sandstone used in “fracking”) market. The exchange expects to launch the data division in the fourth quarter of this year.

Lashnits was most recently director of data sales in agriculture and maritime at commodities and energy market data provider Genscape, and has also worked as US commodity sales manager at Euronext, and in various roles, including director and risk analyst at the Iowa Grain Company.

“I am ecstatic about joining PanXchange’s leadership team and thrilled to be part of a crew that is making a real difference in shaping market structure in the near future,” Lashnits says in a statement. “I look forward to laying the foundation for rapid, international globalization of PanXchange, while continuing to focus on energy clients as a central pillar of our strategy.”
