A look at some of the key "people moves" from this week, including Vijay Mayadas (pictured) who has been appointed president of capital markets at Broadridge.
Vijay Mayadas to Lead Capital Markets at Broadridge
Vijay Mayadas has been appointed president of capital markets at Broadridge Financial Solutions.
In this newly-created position, he will lead Broadridge’s trading and post-trade capital markets SaaS solutions as part of its global technology and operations (GTO) business.
Mayadas joined Broadridge in 2013 as head of strategy and M&A. In 2016, he joined Broadridge’s GTO business to lead the fixed income and analytics business unit.
Prior to joining Broadridge, he held a variety of roles in strategy consulting, including six years at The Boston Consulting Group, private equity and fixed income trading software development.
Andy Chorlton Takes Over As Head of Fixed Income at Schroders
Philippe Lespinard is stepping down from his role as head of fixed income at Schroders, after a decade in the role. He will be replaced by Andy Chorlton, effective October 1. Chorlton will report to Charles Prideaux, global head of investment, and will join Schroders group management committee.
Chorlton has been Schroders’ head of US multi-sector & fixed income solutions, having spent the past two decades specializing in fixed income investing. He joined Schroders New York office in 2013 following the acquisition of STW Fixed Income in the US and returned to the UK in August 2019.
New York-based Lisa Hornby, fixed income fund manager, will take over Chorlton’s responsibilities as head of US multi-sector fixed income, supported by Schroders’ long-standing team and experienced portfolio managers Neil Sutherland, Julio Bonilla and Ryan Mostafa. Hornby will lead the team from New York and continue to report to Chorlton.
John Bauer Joins Cboe as Director of Market Data Sales
Cboe Global Markets has announced the appointment of John Bauer as director of market data sales. In this role, Bauer is responsible for expanding sales of the exchange group’s market data products in the US.
Bauer was most recently global head of technical pre-sales at ACTIV Financial. Prior, he served as a market data administrator at Susquehanna International Group. Bauer brings nearly two decades of experience in financial services.
Based in New York, Bauer reports to Kevin Maude, head of market data sales at Cboe.
TP Icap Hires David Everson as Head of Matchbook Credit EMEA
TP Icap has announced the appointment of David Everson as head of matchbook credit, EMEA.
Everson will build on TP ICAP’s growing portfolio of optimisation products to cover Fixed Income and Emerging Markets across EMEA.
He joins from Tradeweb where he was head of credit sweep Europe; responsible for the day-to-day running of the European sweep business and projects including Tradeweb’s all-to-all anonymous trading protocol, and a portfolio trading tool for the buy-side. Prior to this he spent a decade at GFI broking both cash and CDS.
TP Icap has also hired Rosie Wood as matchbook sales and liquidity manager. Wood was also previously at Tradeweb. She has experience in trading connectivity and electronic markets, gained from a variety of positions held at Tradeweb.
Temenos Hires Roger Klantschi As EVP of Delivery for the Americas
Software company Temenos has appointed Roger Klantschi as the new executive vice president of delivery, Americas.
In the role, he will be leading services and support for North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Klantschi will be responsible for leading the customer engagement and delivery teams across all Temenos products, as well as its newly formed customer success division in the Americas.
Prior to Temenos, he spent 18 years at Infosys, holding senior executive positions in the US and Europe, including head of services for Americas and Europe, and head of presales Americas. Klantschi was also CIO at Banco Hipotecario in Argentina, a bank that pioneered mortgage lending on extended, low-interest terms, and contributed to consolidating a modern Argentine economy. Klantschi started his career with Accenture, where he spent eight years with the consultancy in Europe and later in Argentina.
Klantschi will report directly to Alexa Guenoun, president, Americas, and global head of partners at Temenos.
Ideal Prediction Makes Advisory Board Appointments
Ideal Prediction, a trading analysis and data science company for capital markets, has appointed Jonathan Fieldman and Geoff Jones to its advisory board.
Fieldman spent the past 16 years at Broadway Technology leading the transformation of FICC electronic trading, acquired by ION Trading this year. In his past role, he was also a board member and C-level executive, leading sales, marketing, and business development. He gained an Economics degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992.
Jones began his career as an analyst at Deutsche Bank and most recently spent 10 years at RBC Capital Markets, starting as an eFX specialist in 2010 and working up to global head of eFX and spot trading by 2017. Before that, he worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland as head of electronic markets FX pricing and was responsible for the construction and distribution of FX pricing for electronic markets. He gained an MSc in Computer Science with Data Analytics from the University of York.
Michael Turner Joins CRISIL Coalition Greenwich
CRISIL Coalition Greenwich, a business intelligence provider to the financial services industry, has hired Michael Turner as head of the firm’s corporate and investment banking competitor benchmarking and insights team.
In the new role, Turner will oversee CRISIL Coalition Greenwich’s competitor benchmarking and insights team across corporate and investment banking. The service provides banks with analyses on industry trends as well as their competitors.
Turner joins CRISIL Coalition Greenwich from Oliver Wyman, where he was a partner in the corporate and institutional banking practice and head of the London office. During his 13 years at Oliver Wyman, he led the firm’s benchmarking platform, working regularly with all the large corporate and investment banks globally, as well as many regional banks
He will report directly to Besson and will be based in London.
Peter Warne Retires From ASX
The board of ASX Limited announced the retirement of Peter Warne effective from the end of the annual general meeting on September 30. Warne has served for more than 14 years on the ASX Board and was a member of the audit and risk committee, nomination committee, and remuneration committee.
ASX confirmed that Warne will remain chairman of Austraclear Limited and a director of ASX Clear (Futures) Pty Limited, the ASX clearing and settlement licensees for Australia’s derivatives, OTC and debt markets. He will also remain a director of their intermediate holding companies, ASX Clearing Corporation Limited, ASX Settlement Corporation Limited.
Drawbridge Partners Hires Ryan Krebs As Cyber Risk Consultant
Drawbridge Partners, a cybersecurity software and services firm for hedge fund and private equity managers, has appointed Ryan Krebs as a cyber risk consultant in its New York office.
Krebs joins Drawbridge from Lighthouse Investment Partners, where he assisted with the assessment and ongoing monitoring of the broad range of operational risks associated with Lighthouse’s underlying hedge fund investments and their service providers. Prior to Lighthouse, he held positions in the private bank at JP Morgan and K2 Advisors, conducting operational due diligence on hedge funds, private equity funds and mutual fund managers.
