People Moves: DTCC, Torstone, Nasdaq and more

A look at some recent people moves in the capital markets technology and data space.

Torstone hires Farrell as head of North America

Torstone Technology, a post-trade securities and derivatives processing software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform provider, announced that Sam Farrell has joined the vendor as head of North America.

Farrell will be based in Toronto and will oversee all of Torstone’s US and Canadian operations. Before joining Torstone, Farrell worked in Canadian financial services for 35 years, namely at RBC, TD Securities, Scotiabank and Credit Suisse Canada.

DTCC adds Cosgrove, Keady and LaRoche-Morris to leadership team

The Depository Trust and Clearing Corp. (DTCC) announced a host of additions to its leadership team. Each of the new appointments will report to DTCC president and CEO Frank La Salla and they will each also serve on the company’s management committee.

DTCC CFO Susan Cosgrove has been named president of clearing and securities services. She will lead all equity and fixed-income clearance and settlement, asset servicing and underwriting, wealth management and institutional trade processing businesses for the company. Cosgrove also will become chair of the ITP board of managers.

Timothy Keady has also been appointed chief client officer, where he will be responsible for the DTCC’s global sales, relationship management, partners and marketing and communications functions. The DTCC will also nominate Keady to serve as chair of the DTCC Deriv/Serv board of directors.

Renee LaRoche-Morris joins the DTCC as CFO, where she will be in charge of global finance and treasury functions, as well as strategic sourcing, corporate services, real estate, program management and new initiatives oversight functions. LaRoche-Morris joins from State Street, and before State Street she worked at BNY Mellon and at Deloitte Consulting.

Nasdaq names Garrett as new investor relations officer

Nasdaq announced that Ato Garrett has joined the exchange operator as senior vice president and investor relations officer, reporting to Ann Dennison, executive vice president and CFO.

Garrett joins Nasdaq from Veeva Systems, a provider of cloud software to the life sciences industry, where he served as senior director and head of investor relations. Prior to Veeva, Garrett spent a decade as a sell-side analyst at Guggenheim Securities and Deutsche Bank, where he covered software and business services companies.

Amundi taps Lucas for CEO role

French asset management company Amundi has announced the appointment of Benjamin Lucas to CEO of buy-side technology provider Amundi Technology.

Lucas joins from KPMG, where he was UK head of asset management, as well as the global head of asset management consulting.

Clearwater promotes Erickson to CRO

Clearwater Analytics, a provider of SaaS-based investment management, accounting, reporting, and analytics solutions, announced that Scott Erickson has been named the company’s first chief revenue officer.

Erickson will oversee Clearwater’s sales efforts in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Canoe announces five senior VP hires

Data management fintech company Canoe Intelligence has announced five new senior hires.

Aman Soni has been appointed vice president of data strategy, Betsy Daitch has become vice president of marketing, Brian Sadler has been named vice president of enterprise architecture and scalability, Kevin Winter has been tapped for the role of vice president of information security, and Taylor Wamsley has been named vice president of finance.

Calastone taps Godins for chief commercial officer role

Global funds network Calastone announced the appointment of Brian Godins as its new chief commercial officer.

Godins joins from HSBC, where he led the bank’s securities services division for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. He has 30 years of experience in financial services, and will report to CEO Julien Hammerson.

Within the organization, Calastone’s Ross Fox has moved from Singapore to the UK as managing director, head of UK and Europe. Justin Christopher has been appointed managing director, head of Asia, based in Singapore, moving from his former base in Sydney. Ed Lopez has moved into a newly created role of president of money market services.

Krueger named CEO of GTN Americas

GTN, a fintech company aiming to make investment and trading more accessible, has appointed Eric Krueger as CEO of GTN Americas.

Krueger joins GTN from Saxo Bank, where he served as global head of digital engagement and client services. Before that, he held various equity leadership roles in the US and Europe at Barclays and Merrill Lynch. Most recently, he was managing director and head of Emea cash equities distribution at Barclays.
