Nick Kolba Appointed As Global Head of Platform At Genesis 

Genesis has announced the appointment of Nick Kolba as the global head of platform at Genesis. Kolba will be responsible for delivering the firm’s technology strategy and to drive client adoption of its low code application platform.

Kolba was previously chief product officer at OpenFin and is the founder of chair of the Fintech Open Source Foundation (Finos).

Earlier this month Genesis also joined Finos, a nonprofit that seeks to increase adoption of open source, open standards, and collaborative software development practices in financial services. Kolba will continue as chair of FDC3, a Finos initiative.

FlexTrade Systems Hires Paul Beatty As Director Of FX Business Development

FlexTrade Systems, a provider of multi-asset execution and order management systems, has hired Paul Beatty as director of FX business development.

Beatty has held roles as a managing director at technology provider Spotex, a director at TP ICAP and spent 17  years at Bloomberg as global managing director of Tradebook FX.

Beatty is credited with launching the first electronic anonymous FX trading platform inside the Bloomberg ecosystem.

Tora Recruits Two New Traders

Tora, an order and execution management system (OEMS) provider, has added two new hires, Mark Mazor and Joe Zonenshine to its global outsourced trading team.

Mazor has over 15 years experience as a trader, and started his career at Morgan Stanley.  He has also worked at Partner Fund Management and Balyasny Asset Management.

Zonenshine has worked at Aristeia Capital, Blackwells Capital and at Lehman Brothers in New York.

The two will join a team that offers execution support for the Tora’s global client base of hedge funds and asset managers. The firm, which is headquartered in San Francisco, has over 250 employees worldwide.

Nomura Announces New Advisory Board Members

Japan-based Nomura Holdings has announced the appointment of two new members to its advisory board.   

The two new members are Chartsiri Sophonpanich, president of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, and Philip Hammond, former Member of Parliament and Chancellor of the Exchequer.

The advisory board was established 2001 to advise the firm’s executive management board, which is tasked with making decisions on business execution.

CLS Appoints Three New Board Members

Market infrastructure group CLS has appointed three new members to its board of directors at its annual general meeting.

The three new board members are Karen Keenan, John Trundle and Naoto Nakamura.

Kennan recently retired as the chief administrative officer of State Street Corporation, where she led initiatives such as oversight of its end-to-end technology and operational resiliency program and business line risk management.

Trundle is the former chief executive officer, member of the board of directors and chair of the Management Committee for Euroclear UK and Ireland. He was also previously the head of the business continuity and financial market infrastructure divisions at the Bank of England.

Nakamura is currently managing director, global head of FX and local markets trading, and co-head of global markets sales and trading division at MUFG. He is responsible for the FX business globally at the firm.
