People Moves: IBM Cloud, CoinShares & Seaborn Networks
This week's key people moves include former BofA CTO Howard Boville (pictured), who joins IBM Cloud as senior vice president.
IBM Taps BofA CTO to Build Out Cloud
Howard Boville will join IBM Cloud as senior vice president on May 1. He will direct the company’s global network.
Boville was most recently CTO for Bank of America (BofA), responsible for the bank’s infrastructure strategy across eight business lines. Boville spent eight years at BofA; during that time, he served a key role in building the firm’s internal private cloud. Before that, he worked at British Telecom (BT) for 13 years, rising to managing director in the global services division.
He holds business degrees from the University of Teesside and Leeds University.
CoinShares Hires Chief Revenue Officer
In a bid to expand its executive team, digital asset investment products provider CoinShares has tapped Frank Spiteri for the role of chief revenue officer. Spiteri will oversee the company’s exchange traded product (ETP) business, and will be responsible for its broader sales, marketing, and research efforts.
Spiteri has more than 23 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was previously head of European distribution at WisdomTree, where he drove growth in the European franchise and was responsible for the integration of the exchange-traded fund (ETF) securities business following its acquisition in 2018. He has also worked in sales and trading roles across financial services firms including Peel Hunt, KBC Financial Products, and Citigroup.
Seaborn Networks Names Marcelino Senior Vice President
Seaborn Networks, a developer, owner, and operator of subsea fiber optic cable systems, has announced that Michel Marcelino will join the company as senior vice president, head of Latin America. Marcelino will be responsible for managing Seaborn’s sales organization and channel strategies. He will be the most senior officer based in Brazil.
Marcelino started his career at Philip Morris International, first as a regional trade marketing manager and finally as national key account manager for all channels. Prior to joining Seaborn, he worked for Vogel Telecom as chief business development officer for three years. Prior to that, he worked for American Tower in Brazil, where he was head of sales and marketing.
