A look at some of the key "people moves" from this week, including Hester Serafini (pictured) who has been appointed president at ICE Clear Europe.
ICE Clear Europe Appoints Hester Serafini As President
Hester Serafini has been appointed president of ICE Clear Europe, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE)’s London-based clearinghouse.
Serafini was initially appointed as interim president of ICE Clear Europe in February 2020. Before that, she was president and COO of ICE Clear US.
Serafini, who holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Courant Institute at New York University, has previously held senior roles at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank.and Goldman Sachs.
Aquis Exchange Announces David Vaillant To Board
David Vaillant has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the board at Aquis Exchange. He will also continue in his role as non-executive chairman of Aquis Exchange Europe, the French subsidiary of the exchange, which he was appointed to in September 2019.
Since October 2019 Valliant has also held the role of global head of finance, strategy and participations at BNP Paribas Asset Management.
Sujay Telang Joins Liquidnet as Head of Equities Technology
Liquidnet has announced the appointment of Sujay Telang as its head of equities technology.
Telang will be responsible for driving the future development of the firm’s equity trading platform and the creation of new data-driven offerings. He will work collaboratively with leadership in Liquidnet’s fixed income and investment analytics businesses to help drive opportunities for integration, client support and market leadership
He was previously at Goldman Sachs, where he led the modernization of its equity algorithmic trading systems.
DLT Digital Rights Startup TradeX Taps Charles Porter as CTO
TradeX, a startup digital rights and records management technology provider for tracking data and transactions, has hired Charles Porter as CTO.
Porter will be responsible for finalizing the company’s technology, building a development team, and drafting its product roadmap.
Porter previously worked in a senior roles at market data systems support and managed services provider CJC. He has also worked at UBS and Perot Systems.
Porter will report to TradeX CEO Drew Orsinger.
BNP Paribas Americas Makes Two Senior Hires
BNP Paribas Americas has appointed Christina Cho and Anne van Riel as co-head for sustainable finance, capital markets Americas.
Cho has been with the bank for 12 years, previously serving as senior debt capital markets banker in the SSA team. Van Riel was previously at ING where she was the head of sustainable finance.
The two will report to Dan Cozine, deputy head of global credit markets Americas at BNP Paribas.
Gresham Technologies Hires Marc Binck As Head of Cloud Services
Marc Binck has joined Gresham Technologies as head of cloud services.
His responsibility in the role will include the continuous delivery and integration of cloud services across the Clareti, Gresham’s software platform, of data reconciliation, cash management and payments solutions. He will focus on cloud migration to allow Clareti users to classify, authenticate and reconcile a diverse and complex range of data types in the cloud in real-time.
Binck was previously director of operations, cash management, and had been instrumental in developing Clareti’s multi-banking connectivity arm over the past two years.
Edoardo Baumgartner Joins SIA As Country Manager Germany
SIA, a subsidiary of CDP Equity, has appointed Edoardo Baumgartner as country manager Germany.
He will be responsible for strengthening the development of SIA’s positioning in the German market. The company has been present in Germany since through the subsidiary P4cards based in Munich and Nuremberg.
Enfusion Hires Nancy Dornbush as Executive Vice President
Nancy Dornbush has been appointed executive vice president at investment management technology provider Enfusion.
Dornbush will oversee Enfusion’s global-network of managed services clients and work alongside the organization’s product management, client services and technology teams to expand and evolve its outsourced service capabilities, foot-print and bottom-line impact.
Dornbrush was previously at Paxos, where she was the global head of strategic operations, supporting the firm’s external relationship with regulators and auditors. She also played an integral role in the creation of the post-trade technology and professional services firm, Arceisum; which spun out of D.E Shaw Shaw Group’s accounting and operational infrastructure practice.
GLMX Grows Global Team
GLMX, a registered broker-dealer and technology provider, has announced the appointment of Kyle O’Donnell as chief information officer.
O’Donnell , who has experience at both trueEX and Symbiont.io, will report to CEO Glenn Havlicek.
The company has also announced that Andy Wiblin will assume the overall management of the London office as managing director for UK and Europe, while Andrew Turvey will join as head of sales for UK and Europe. Previously Turvey was executive director for repo sales at JP Morgan.
Phil Buck, managing director, Europe, is leaving the firm but has agreed to until September 30 to help in the transition
