People Moves: LSEG, SS&C Eze, IHS Markit, T-Rex, Tier1
A look at some of the key "people moves" from the last week.
Tier1 Names Chesek EVP of Sales
Tier1 Financial Solutions, a provider of relationship management software for capital markets, has appointed Paul Chesek executive vice president of sales. He’ll lead the sales and business development teams through the company’s next growth period.
Prior to joining Tier1, Chesek spent seven years at Bluewolf, an IBM company, where he led the Salesforce practice as a partner and managing director. There he built and managed teams, and was responsible for $45 million in Salesforce revenue and tripled the value in their pipeline in just six months. Prior to Bluewolf, he served as the global vice president of sales at All Covered, a technology consulting firm.
Chesek will be based in New York and report to Mark Notten, Tier1’s CEO and co-founder.
T-Rex Hires Ex-Bloomberg Exec
T-Rex Group, a fintech group that offers data and analytics services for alternative assets, has hired Geoffrey Patsch to be its director of strategic engagements. He’ll oversee all facets of program development and implementation for enterprise-level clients.
Patsch joins from Beacon Platform, a development platform for financial applications, where he was global head of strategy and customer support. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Bloomberg in a handful of roles, including global head of institutional sales technology and of Bloomberg sell-side execution and order management solutions (SSEOMS), which was wound down this year.
Patsch will report to reports to T-REX chief business development officer Scott Miller and is based in the company’s New York headquarters.
LSEG Chief Financial Officer Steps Down Next Year
David Warren, chief financial officer (CFO) for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), will retire from the company and step down from the board by the end of 2020.
Warren will continue in his current role as group CFO and a member of the board through the close of the Refinitiv acquisition to ensure a smooth transition to his successor. LSEG will undertake a global search, which will be led by the board’s nomination committee.
Warren has held his position at LSEG for more than seven years. Earlier in his career, he joined Nasdaq OMX in 2002, where he was also CFO before moving into a senior advisory role.
SS&C Eze Shuffles Executive Leadership
SS&C Eze announced a handful of position changes within its executive team. Michael Hunter, current global head of sales, will lead the business as general manager of SS&C Eze and report to Robert Roley, senior vice president of SS&C Technologies. At the same time, Mike Reddy, senior managing director of client services for Americas, becomes chief operating officer (COO), and Anthony Rossi, director of institutional sales, assumes the role of head of North American application sales. All changes are already in effect.
SS&C also announced that Jeff Shoreman, senior vice president and general manager, will leave the company on November 15.
The reshuffling is meant to align SS&C Eze to capitalize on strategic growth and market opportunities.
One Hire and One Retire at IHS Markit Board
IHS Markit, London-based data and information services firm, announced the appointment of Deborah Orida as an independent director to its board and the retirement of Richard Roedel from the board. With Orida’s addition, the number of board directors increases to 12, and she will also serve on the board’s human resources committee.
Orida is currently senior managing director and global head of active equities at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). She joined CPPIB in 2009 and held senior leadership roles, including head of Private Equity in Asia, based in Hong Kong, and head of relationship investments international, where she covered Europe and Asia. Prior to joining CPPIB, Orida spent nine years at Goldman Sachs in New York and Toronto.
Roedel has decided not to seek re-election to the board when his current term expires at the annual general meeting of shareholders in April 2020. Roedel, a former chair and CEO of BDO Seidman LLP, has served on the IHS Markit board for 15 years.
