Microsoft Nabs Google Financial Cloud Exec

Tais O’Dwyer, previously global director of financial services strategy and solutions for Google Cloud, has joined Microsoft as head of worldwide financial services business strategy.

Before joining Google in 2019, O’Dwyer was SVP of strategic planning and initiatives for technology and operations at CIT Group. Before that, she was VP of rates and FX technology at Bank of America, held a technology project management role at Morgan Stanley, and served as a consultant at BearingPoint and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Ownera Taps Ex-SocGen Exec for Euro Digital Securities Network

Digital securities trading network Ownera has hired Anthony Woolley, former chief innovation officer at Societe Generale, as head of business development for Europe, with responsibility for leading the development of an institutional-grade digital securities network in the region.

In his most recent role at SocGen, Woolley was responsible for the bank’s distributed ledger technology program, managed its work with industry consortiums, and spun off new businesses. In previous roles at the bank, he served as MD and chief information officer, and head of client and trading technology for its fixed income, currencies and commodities business. Before joining SocGen in 2010, he was global head of FX pricing and e-commerce technology at HSBC, prior to which he held the same role at Citigroup, served as head of technology for the investment banking division of Salomon Smith Barney in EMEA, and global head of corporate finance technology at Schroders.

In his new role, he reports to Ownera co-founder and CEO Ami Ben David.

Cboe Promotes Veteran to Head of Market Data Sales

Cboe Global Markets, a global exchange holding company, announced the promotion of Kevin Maude to head of market data sales. Maude joined Cboe in 2019 as director of market data sales for North and South America. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing client service and strategic expansion of Cboe’s market data sales efforts in the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions, and aiming to grow the company’s enterprise and channel client bases.

Prior to joining Cboe, Maude held a number of senior roles in the fintech and market data industry, including senior sales manager at S&P Global Market Intelligence and head of global accounts at Fitch Solutions. Over his 20 year career in financial markets, he has also worked at IHS Markit and Tradeweb Markets.

Capitolis Appoints New Director to Board

Financial technology company Capitolis has announced the appointment of Rony Grushka to its board of directors. Grushka will serve as an advisor to the executive team on strategic initiatives. Grushka’s appointment follows three other hires Capitolis has made since March.

Grushka is best known for his role as a co-founder of Markit Group. During his 13 years with the firm, he held a number of roles, including global head of corporate strategy, chief financial officer and secretary to the board of directors. He also led the company’s initial public offering on the NASDAQ stock market.

Grushka gained his MS in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics, and has been a governor for the university since 2017.

Clearwater Hires New CTO

Clearwater Analytics, a SaaS solution for investment data aggregation, reconciliation, accounting, and reporting, has announced that Warren Barkley has joined the firm as chief technology officer to oversee all technical aspects of the company.

In his previous role, he was the general manager at Amazon Web Services. Prior to that he served as the general manager for Business AI at Microsoft where he brought machine learning technologies to market. Barkley was also CTO for SMART Technologies, and held several positions at Microsoft where he was instrumental in the development of wireless networking in Windows and Microsoft Skype for Business.

At Microsoft, he also played a central role in establishing WiFi as a worldwide standard and authored a variety of key industry wireless specifications.

ACA Compliance Group Appoints Two Members to Leadership Team

ACA Compliance Group (ACA) have announced that Carrie Yonenson and Dave Metzger as chief human resources officer and chief financial officer, respectively. Both Yonenson and Metzger will be based in the firm’s Maryland office.

Yonenson joins ACA with over 14 years of experience in human resources and employment law. In the newly created role at ACA, she will be an integral part of the leadership team at the firm, overseeing all aspects of human resources and people strategy, including talent management, leadership development, compensation and benefits, and reward and recognition.

Metzger joins ACA with over 30 years of financial management experience. He will serve as ACA’s CFO and will oversee ACA’s global finance team. He has previously held CFO positions at Cresa, a commercial real estate firm, Frontpoint, a consumer technology company, Capital Vision Services, and RE/MAX LLC. Dave is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and received his Juris Doctor (JD) at University of Baltimore’s School of Law.
