Northern Trust picks Michael Buzza for strategy role

Northern Trust has appointed Michael Buzza as its new global head of network management and market strategy. Buzza, who was previously EMEA head of market advocacy and innovation research, will now oversee the teams providing market access and insights across the traditional securities services markets within the digital assets and financial markets group.

Over the course of his 16 years at Northern Trust, Buzza led strategic agent bank provider selection and was involved in a strategic investment in Zodia Custody, an institutional-grade cryptoasset custody solution created with Standard Chartered. Before moving to Northern Trust, Buzza was a management consultant at Thomas Murray.

Deutsche Bank names Ruchir Sharma co-head of global FX for Asia Pacific

Deutsche Bank has named Ruchir Sharma its new co-head of global foreign exchange for Asia Pacific. The Asia Pacific GFX is based in Singapore and came into effect on 15 September.

Sharma will be working alongside recently-hired GFX co-head Darren Boulos, and will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of Deutsche Bank’s FX business. Sharma brings to Deutsche Bank his experience from Credit Suisse, where he was head of Asia Pacific FX trading. Sharma has also held roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong.

SS&C appoints Bhagesh Malde to lead next phase of growth

Bhagesh Malde has been promoted to lead SS&C’s newly combined global fund administration and servicing business. The new group will continue to operate as SS&C GlobeOp and brings together SS&C’s hedge fund administration, private markets administration, middle-office, and insurance global servicing capabilities. Key services also include middle- and back-office outsourcing and loan servicing. Malde will report to Rahul Kanwar, SS&C’s president and chief operating officer.

Malde has been leading SS&C GlobeOp private markets since 2017. Before joining SS&C, he was senior managing director and global head of the private equity and real estate business at State Street. Malde also previously held the position of managing director and global head of hedge fund services at JP Morgan.

STP Investment Services hires Dan Houlihan as new president

STP Investment Services has hired Dan Houlihan as its president. Houlihan will be tasked with managing the firm’s sales and operations team. Houlihan will be working under STP’s founder and chief executive officer Patrick Murray whose plan is to grow the firm globally.

Before moving to STP, Houlihan spent 14 years working at Northern Trust, most recently as executive vice president and head of asset servicing. At Northern Trust, Houlihan led a team of more than 3,000 employees and was responsible for the firm’s strategy, client management, and operations for its asset servicing business. Houlihan also brings to his new role his experience from previous positions at Citisoft and Nicsa.

Alexis Fauth is Tradefeedr’s head of data science and client analytics

Alexis Fauth has joined Tradefeedr as the firm’s new head of data science and client analytics. Fauth will be responsible for identifying and developing new tools for clients, with the goal of enabling them to gain further insights from their data and optimize their trading.

Fauth has experience developing trading and analytics frameworks in FX, fixed income, and futures markets. He joins Tradefeedr from Citi where he was the global head of FX data science. At Citi, he developed client optimization strategy models. Prior to his time at Citi, Fauth was a quantitative analyst at S&P, where he led a team which developed X-Value Adjustment models for fixed income, hybrid derivatives pricing, and counterparty credit risk models.

Fauth holds a PhD in applied mathematics from Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a Master’s in probability and statistics. Fauth will be working under co-founder Alexei Jiltsov’s direction.

Vatsan Sudersan leaves Bloomberg for Preqin

Vatsan Sudersan has become Preqin’s head of data management and will be working under the direction of Preqin CEO Christoph Knaack. Sudersan will be leading the data management team that operationalizes Preqin’s automated data collection, including through machine learning and artificial intelligence models.

Sudersan joins from Bloomberg, which he has left after 15 years of working through the company’s ranks to become its head of global data for Asia Pacific. At Bloomberg, he led a team of over 350 employees across eight geographies.

big xyt appoints Anthony Huck head of Americas

big xyt has hired Anthony Huck to join its global executive team as head of the Americas. In this new position, Huck will be responsible for expanding the firm’s global footprint into the United States, Canadian, and Latin American regions.

He will report to Robin Mess, big xyt’s chief executive and co-founder. Huck has previously held executive positions at Royal Bank of Scotland, Citadel Securities, and Investment Technology Group.

Delta Capita names Riddhi Sen new head of data

Delta Capita has appointed Riddhi Sen its new head of data. At the consultancy firm, Sen will be focused on creating long-term partnerships with financial services clients and designing the changes needed to elevate businesses.

Sen previously held consulting positions at Capco and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and brings more than a decade of financial services experience into the role.

Michael Markes becomes Quodd’s VP of account management

Quodd has appointed Michael Markes to be its new vice president of account management. Markes will be working under the direction of Quodd CEO Bob Ward, and will be focused on generating growth at the firm and adding more value to its existing customer base. His appointment follows another key hire earlier this year. Back in April, Quodd hired Al Batten as senior vice president and head of account management.

Prior to joining Quodd, Markes managed global relationships at Nasdaq for more than 12 years. Before that, he held account management roles at ITRS Americas, Thomson Reuters, BT Radianz, and The London Stock Exchange.

SimCorp names Michael Bjergby as CFO

SimCorp has appointed Michael Bjergby as its new CFO. Bjergby is due to step into his role at the company on December 1, and will be taking over from Michael Rosenvold who is leaving SimCorp after five years in the role.

Bjergby joins SimCorp’s board and will be responsible for leading the company’s global finance, IT, legal, investor relations, and procurement teams. He is also set to strengthen SimCorp’s finance teams as part of the company’s new operating model. This includes overseeing the implementation of new management systems.

Bjergby comes to SimCorp from ISS, where he most recently served as senior vice president and head of group finance. Bjerby will be working under the direction of Simcorp’s chief executive officer, Christian Kromann.
