People Moves: OCC, Enfusion, Exegy, IQ-EQ, and more

Oppenheimer to serve as chief of staff to OCC acting comptroller

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has appointed Lauren Oppenheimer to serve as chief of staff to acting comptroller Michael J. Hsu. In her new role, Oppenheimer will advance the priorities of the acting comptroller, direct the daily operations of his support staff, provide administrative oversight to the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion, oversee public affairs functions, and serve as a member of the OCC executive committee.

Prior to joining the OCC, Oppenheimer was the director of legislative and intergovernmental affairs at the Department of Commerce. She also previously served as a senior advisor of economic policy for former Senator Doug Jones (D-Ala.) and minority staff director for the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Protection under Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.). She also worked for former Democratic representatives Paul Hodes and Mel Watt.

Enfusion welcomes new chief people officer, expands board of directors

Enfusion, a provider of cloud-based investment management software and services, has hired Bronwen Bastone as chief people officer and added industry veterans Jan Hauser and Kathleen DeRose to its board of directors.

As chief people officer, Bastone will be responsible for growing and developing Enfusion’s talent pool. Previously, Bastone held roles at Exos, a B2B institutional finance platform, as well as senior roles at Knight Capital, Merrill Lynch, Cushman Wakefield, and Brookfield Asset Management.

DeRose joins the board as a non-executive director and takes on the role of compensation committee chair as well as a position on the audit committee. DeRose is presently a clinical associate professor of finance focusing on fintech at the Stern School of Business at New York University, where she is also the director of the Fubon Center for Technology, Business, and Innovation. She is a non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange Group and Voya Financial. She previously served as chairman of the board of Evolute, as managing director at Credit Suisse, Bessemer Trust, Scudder Stevens & Clark, and as a vice president at JPMorgan.

Hauser joins the board as a non-executive director and takes on the role of audit committee chair as well as a position on the compensation committee. Hauser currently serves on the Vonage board of directors, where she is audit committee chair and a member of nominating and governance committee. She is also a member of Women Corporate Directors and the Northeast Audit Committee Network. Hauser was previously vice president and chief accounting officer of General Electric, a senior consulting partner at PwC and, earlier in her career, served as a fellow in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant.

Exegy adds to global sales organization

Exegy, a provider of real-time market data solutions, has added two experienced industry leaders to its global sales organization.

Devry Ross joins Exegy as global head of partners. In this role, Ross will take ownership of existing global partnerships and further engage with technology providers, outsourcers, data aggregators, consultancies, and system integrators to create new opportunities in multiple channels. She comes from Bizagi, where she developed and strengthened relationships for the past two years as head of North American partners and alliances. Prior to joining Bizagi, Ross was the strategic partner and alliance director at Finastra.

In addition, Jared Singer has joined Exegy as Americas head of sales. Singer spent more than seven years at FIS, where he served most recently as vice president of growth accounts. He also held other roles including vice president and head of channel sales and program manager in global sales operations, where he led sales teams and designed go-to-market strategies that aligned with evolving industry trends. Prior to FIS’s acquisition of SunGard, he spent three years as a senior sales executive at SunGard.

Both Ross and Singer will report to Exegy chief revenue officer Craig Schachter.

IQ-EQ recruits private wealth director from Stonehage Fleming

IQ-EQ, a global investor services firm, has hired Darrell King as director of private wealth in the Americas.

In this newly created senior role, King will be based in IQ-EQ’s New York office. His appointment represents another important step in IQ-EQ’s efforts to grow its private wealth trust business in the US. His key initiatives will include establishing new advisor and client relationships, building out a referral network to generate new business and partnering with IQ-EQ Private Wealth trust and other colleagues in the US and around the world to better serve clients. 

King joins IQ-EQ from Stonehage Fleming, where he was the Americas director of business development. Prior to Stonehage Fleming, he spent 14 years at RBC Wealth Management in various roles.

GH Financials CEO to join RJ O’Brien affiliate as EMEA managing director

RJ O’Brien & Associates, an independent futures brokerage and clearing firm, has announced that Mark Phelps, group chief executive officer of GH Financials, will soon assume the role of EMEA managing director for its London-based affiliate, R.J. O’Brien Limited. Phelps is a nearly 25-year veteran of the futures markets in Europe and globally.

Phelps will operate out of London and report to RJO chairman and chief executive officer, Gerald Corcoran.

Phelps has served as group CEO of GH Financials, a London-based exchange-traded derivatives clearing firm, since April 2018. He has also served as regional CEO of GHF and board chairman of the firm’s Hong Kong Board as a non-executive director. He joined the firm in 2012 as global head of marketing and sales, focused on client clearing on exchanges across the globe and managing the sales process for offices in London, Chicago and Hong Kong, as well as the global branding.
