State Street names Taro Kuryuzawa country head for Japan
State Street Corporation has appointed Taro Kuryuzawa as country head for Japan, effective immediately. Based in Tokyo, Kuryuzawa will report to Mostapha Tahiri, chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific region.
In this newly created role, Kuryuzawa will be responsible for State Street’s business activities in Japan, including driving strategy, developing talent, pursuing growth opportunities, as well as managing relationships with Japanese clients, partners, officials, and regulators.
Kuryuzawa joined State Street in May from Deloitte Tohmatsu Group, where he was most recently head of institutional investor coverage in Japan and global lead client service partner. Prior to Deloitte, he held a number of senior positions at Citigroup, including its global private equity fund, CVC International.
SimCorp promotes Christian Kromann to CEO
SimCorp has announced that Christian Kromann will succeed Klaus Holse as CEO. Christian has served as SimCorp chief operating officer and member of the executive management board since August 2019.
Klaus Holse will remain a member of the executive management board for the rest of 2021, then serving as a senior advisor until the end of Q2 2022 to ensure a smooth transition.
SDX names State Street veteran David Newns as chief executive officer
Six Digital Exchange has appointed David Newns its new CEO. He will assume the position following the departure of former CEO Tim Grant. Grant moves to Galaxy Digital as head of Europe.
Newns is a veteran of State Street, where he most recently served as global head of global link execution services. His previous roles at State Street also include global head of the Currenex FX trading platform and COO of the eExchange business.
Exegy adds Craig Schachter in new chief revenue officer role
Exegy, a global provider of low-latency market data and execution solutions, has announced the appointment of Craig Schachter as chief revenue officer. In this newly created leadership role, Schachter will be responsible for setting and leading the organization’s global go-to-market strategy.
Prior to joining Exegy, Schachter was responsible for relationship management across SS&C Technologies’ financial services group. He also held senior leadership roles at Finastra, FIS, SunGard, and Xcitek/XSP.
Based in Exegy’s New York office, Schachter will report to chief executive officer Jim O’Donnell.
SteelEye appoints Philip Lemmon to commercial director
SteelEye, a compliance technology and data analytics firm, has appointed Philip Lemmon as commercial director, working with CEO Matt Smith and the management team, to accelerate the firm’s commercial activity across its trade surveillance and transaction cost analysis solutions.
Prior to joining SteelEye, he worked for Abel Noser Solutions, specializing in TCA and other compliance solutions.
Lemmon’s hiring follows SteelEye’s announced plans to expand into North America and open an office in Portugal.
Meradia adds Brian Lollar as managing director
Meradia, a consultancy for investment operations and technology, has hired Brian Lollar as managing director. In this role, Lollar will support the firm’s full scope of investment operations transformation projects and advance Meradia’s entrance into multiple industry segments, including institutional asset management, pension funds, insurance companies, endowments and foundations, and wealth managers.
Lollar joins Meradia from Accenture, where he was most recently global SimCorp lead for Accenture Capital Markets. He has served as manager of investment accounting and transfer agency technology for Janus Henderson Investors and as president of the SimCorp North American user group.
Kingland appoints Matt Kuo chief product officer
Kingland, a provider of data platform solutions, has added Matt Kuo as chief product officer.
Kuo joins Kingland from AutoQuotes, at which he was chief product officer. He was previously director of product development, enabling tech at CNN and strategic programs manager for support communities at Apple.
