SunTec recruits IBM’s Yesudas as chief technology officer
SunTec Business Solutions, a pricing and billing company, has appointed Michael Yesudas chief technology officer. Yesudas will be part of the company’s leadership team and will be based in the US. He will head up the technology and engineering functions, including platform engineering, product engineering, and release engineering teams. He will particularly focus on the development of the company’s platform that will integrate with third-party APIs and be built with an architecture that provides flexibility and extensibility for an open banking environment.
Yesudas joins SunTec from IBM, where he was an IBM distinguished engineer and the CTO of IBM Sterling and AI Applications Expert Labs.
Broadridge adds FinTech veterans to LTX leadership team
Broadridge Financial Solutions has announced that Ted Bragg and Jim Kwiatkowski have joined LTX, a Broadridge company offering a new AI-driven digital trading platform for corporate bonds. Bragg and Kwiatkowski join the LTX leadership team, working closely with LTX chief executive officer Jim Toffey to accelerate the digitization of corporate bond trading.
Bragg brings more than 30 years of executive leadership in the global markets and will be responsible for enhancing LTX’s trading capabilities. Most recently, he served as vice president and head of fixed income at Nasdaq, where his responsibilities included running the Execution Access broker-dealer team and the registered alternative trading system, NFI, for US Treasuries. He was previously senior vice president for TP ICAP Securities USA, where he was responsible for expanding fixed-income initiatives to create liquidity sources for bond and credit markets. Prior to ICAP, Bragg held a variety of leadership roles for BNY Mellon, including managing director in the Markets Group as head of e-commerce strategy.
Kwiatkowski also joins LTX with more than 30 years of industry experience. Most recently, he served as managing director and global head of transaction sales at the London Stock Exchange. He previously served as global head of transaction sales at Refinitiv, encompassing both client relationship management and new business teams for the buy-side and sell-side client segments.
HKEX nabs Citadel’s Buckley for head of exchange operations and transformation
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited has appointed John Buckley head of exchange operations and transformation, a role he is to assume in December. In this new role, Buckley will be responsible for all of HKEX’s exchange operations, and will lead the strategic development and transformation of this part of its business. He will also lead efforts on modernizing systems and operations, embrace digital tools, and enhance HKEX’s capabilities to maximize efficiencies and performance.
He will be joining HKEX from Citadel, where he is chief operating officer in Asia, a position he has occupied for the past three years. Previously, Buckley spent seven years with JP Morgan and held senior positions including APAC chief risk officer, APAC chief financial officer, and Singapore interim senior country officer.
He will join HKEX in December 2021 and report to HKEX president and chief operating officer Calvin Tai. He will also become a member of the group’s management committee.
Stavrou promoted to head of business in Australia and New Zealand at Northern Trust
Northern Trust has promoted Leon Stavrou to oversee business in Australia and New Zealand. Stavrou will be responsible for the overall strategic direction for Northern Trust’s business providing solutions to corporate and institutional clients across the region. He will report to newly-appointed APAC head, Angelo Calvitto.
Stavrou was most recently a global services executive responsible for Northern Trust’s asset servicing operations across Australia and for ensuring the provision and development of Northern Trust’s range of asset servicing solutions to clients across Asia Pacific. He succeeds Calvitto, who stepped into his new role in June.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, Stavrou held managerial roles at National Australia Bank’s asset servicing unit.
Swift secures Hunter as chief executive of the Americas, UK
Swift, a provider of secure financial messaging services, has hired John Hunter as chief executive of the Americas and UK region. Hunter’s focus will be on strategic customer relationships across these markets, with a focus on enabling the industry to create new services based on Swift’s underlying infrastructure.
He was most recently managing director at JP Morgan Chase, leading its global clearing business. His previous positions include senior product marketing manager at Adobe Systems, payments segment manager at Hewlett-Packard, and financial services consulting manager at Accenture.
