People Moves: TP Icap, ACA Group, BNP Paribas, Morningstar, and more
A look at some of the key people moves from this week, including Marie Luchet (pictured), who joins ACA Group as managing director of ESG.
TP Icap appoints new CEO of global broking
Electronic market infrastructure and data provider TP Icap has appointed Daniel Fields CEO of its global broking division, reporting to group CEO Nicolas Breteau. Fields will be responsible for driving further growth in the business and delivering strategic execution, including the continued rollout of TP Icap’s electronic platform, Fusion.
Fields has worked in capital markets for more than 25 years, including stints as global head of markets at Societe Generale, as well as global head of trading and global head of sales in its global banking and investor solutions division. He joins TP Icap from Altero Capital Partners, where he focused on strategic advisory and capital markets.
Consequently, Andrew Polydor, who has led both global broking and energy and commodities (E&C) throughout the pandemic, will return to focusing on the E&C business as CEO. Supporting Polydor will be George Dranganoudis, who transfers from Asia-Pacific to become deputy CEO of E&C and Emea CEO of E&C.
ACA Group announces new roles following Foreside merger
Financial services governance, risk, and compliance adviser ACA Group has hired Marie Luchet as managing director of ESG, heading up the practice’s strategy and vision for Europe. The firm has also named Neeraj Karhade CFO.
Luchet was previously the director of continental Europe with Principles for Responsible Investment (UN-PRI), a global association in sustainable finance. Prior to this, she served as head of responsible investment with Ecofi Investissements and as an ESG sell-side analyst with CIC Market Solutions.
Karhade was previously the CFO of Transformco, a holding company for assets once held by the Sears Corp., where he was responsible for the company’s financial functions, including financial reporting, audit and compliance, treasury, tax, strategic planning, and corporate finance. Prior to this, Karhade was CFO of Silverline, a Salesforce partner in the health, financial services, and media industries.
BNP Paribas names Jenkin head of prime services technology
French bank BNP Paribas has appointed John Jenkin head of prime services technology. This newly created role will align prime services technology further with the prime service business unit, led by Ashley Wilson, head of prime services. Jenkin joins the bank from JP Morgan, where he worked as head of prime finance technology.
He is based in London and reports to Adalbert de Broglie, CIO of global markets at BNP Paribas.
Morningstar makes changes in research leadership
Data and research provider Morningstar has appointed Tim Strauts North American head of manager research. He will report to Lee Davidson, head of manager and quantitative research. Strauts currently serves as head of research and content for Morningstar Direct, having previously held a leadership role on the quantitative research team.
Ben Johnson, research lead on Morningstar’s global passive strategies research team, will take on the role of head of asset management client solutions, a part of Morningstar’s sales organization. In this new role, Johnson will lead Morningstar’s go-to-market strategy and execution for the asset management segment, as well as continue to serve as an industry expert. He will report to Julie Willoughby, Americas head of enterprise sales and integrated client coverage.
Torstone Technology expands Japanese business with senior hire
Torstone Technology, which provides a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for post-trade securities, derivatives processing, and risk management, has hired Yasuaki Hayashi as senior Japan representative, marking the continued expansion of its Tokyo office as the firm grows in Asia.
He joins Torstone from Interactive Brokers, where he was head of Japan, and helped to set up the firm’s Japanese business in 2008. Prior to that, Hayashi was operations director at Liquidnet, where he set up the firm’s Japanese business.
Chatterjee to lead strategy at Confluence Technologies
Investment management solutions provider Confluence Technologies has named Sanjoy Chatterjee chief strategy officer. Chatterjee is also managing director of Confluence’s investment insights and research product division and will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of Confluence to meet the growing demands of the investment management industry across analytics, regulation, and data solutions.
Chatterjee joined Confluence with the acquisition of Investment Metrics, which he founded and where he served as CSO.
Pavlik appointed CFO of Boosted.ai
Boosted.ai, a distributed machine-learning platform for global investment professionals, has appointed Jennifer Pavlik CFO. Pavlik will be responsible for overall planning and management of the company’s financial affairs. She will work closely with existing executive leadership, including CEO and co-founder Joshua Pantony, and Nicholas Abe, COO and co-founder.
Accelex expands business development team with hires in North America, Emea
Accelex, which offers a SaaS platform for alternative investment data, has added Simon Tang and Marco Loiacono to its global sales team. Tang joins the company as its new director of business development in North America and Loiacono as the new director of Emea sales, based in London. Each will be responsible for expanding and servicing Accelex’s growing client base of asset owners, asset servicers, fund of funds, secondaries investors, and advisors in their respective regions.
Prior to joining Accelex, Tang spent nearly a decade as a director at Cepres, a private markets data and analytics firm, where he opened the firm’s first office in the Asia-Pacific region and spearheaded new client acquisition and business development. Previously, at Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for the sourcing and due diligence of private equity funds for institutional and private clients. Before starting his career in finance, he was a US Navy officer.
Loiacono spent three years at S&P Global working in sales functions within the Capital IQ franchise. He then moved to iLevel as the company’s fourth hire in Emea, where he helped expand the Emea market as a senior sales engineer first and sales director.
