This Week: Tradeweb, LTX/AWS, Bloomberg and more
A summary of the latest financial technology news.
Tradeweb moves Dealerweb Clob datacenter to Secaucus, NJ
Marketplace operator Tradeweb has relocated the primary datacenter for its Dealerweb central limit order book (Clob) to the Equinix NY5 in Secaucus, New Jersey. In a press release, the company said the move brings it closer to a broader range of customers and brings enhanced infrastructure. Equinix NY5 also provides cross-connections to NY2, where west-to-east US treasuries long-haul data terminates. The Dealerweb Clob was formerly located at Equinix NY11 in Carteret, New Jersey.
Tradeweb acquired Nasdaq’s US fixed-income electronic trading platform in 2021, and it became part of the Dealerweb unit. The move to Equinix NY5 is part of the process of integrating the two, according to the press release. Later this year, Dealerweb also plans to move its Actives Streams (Dwas) matching engine to Equinix NY5 with the intention of providing a single cross-connect for both the Clob and Active Streams, and a single straight-through processing (STP) feed for both.
LTX chooses AWS for corporate bond trading
Broadridge subsidiary LTX has migrated its corporate bond trading platform to Amazon Web Services (AWS). In a press release, Broadridge said the migration will allow LTX to provide more advanced analysis of its Liquidity Cloud, a network of anonymous real-time buy- and sell-side indications of interest. LTX will enhance its pricing, dealer selection, client recommendation, and similar bonds functionalities, better helping buy-side investors and dealers to make smarter trading decisions.
Bloomberg unveils new dashboard on SFDR solution for fund managers
Bloomberg has released a new dashboard for its Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) solution. The tool, available through the Bloomberg Terminal as well as via Bloomberg’s data website, enables fund managers to pick and track investments in line with the principal adverse impact (PAI) indicators, the key ESG indicators mandated for SFDR reporting.
In addition to Bloomberg data, the new dashboard also uses data on controversial weapons and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) violations from sustainability data provider ESG Book and data on civil liberties and political rights from Freedom House, a non-profit organization that monitors the health of democracy and freedom worldwide.
Aligning fund composition with SFDR definitions is complex, as firms need to demonstrate how they achieve Article 8 and 9 fund classifications and how they account for sustainability risks in their investment decisions.
